The principle and application matters of the screw sedimentation centrifuge

Centrifugation utilizes the strong centrifugal force generated by the high-speed rotation of the centrifuge rotor to accelerate the sedimentation rate of particles in the liquid and separate substances with different sedimentation coefficients and buoyant densities in the sample. Therefore, a centrifuge is needed to generate a strong centrifugal force in order to force these particles to overcome diffusion and undergo sedimentation movement. A centrifuge has a cylinder that rotates at high speed around its own axis, known as the drum, which is usually driven by an electric motor. After the suspension (or emulsion) is added to the drum, it is rapidly driven to rotate at the same speed as the drum. Under the effect of centrifugal force, each group is separated and discharged separately. Generally, the higher the rotational speed of the drum, the better the separation effect.
