The screw sedimentation centrifuge, also known as the sedimentation centrifuge or screw discharge sedimentation centrifuge, is a highly efficient solid-liquid separation device. Its working principle is based on the centrifugal sedimentation method. By taking advantage of the specific gravity difference between solid and liquid, under the action of a powerful centrifugal force field, solid particles settle to the inner wall of the drum, thereby achieving solid-liquid separation.
During operation, the suspension enters the drum of the centrifuge through the feed pipe. The high-speed rotation of the drum generates a strong centrifugal force, which settles solid particles with a density greater than that of the liquid phase onto the inner wall of the drum. Meanwhile, the screw inside the drum is driven by a differential device and rotates in the same direction as the drum at a slightly slower or faster speed. The relative motion between the screw and the drum pushes the solid phase deposited on the inner wall of the drum towards the outlet at the small end of the drum for discharge. The separated clear liquid is discharged from the other end of the centrifuge. The entire process is continuous, closed and automatic, requiring no human intervention.
The advantages and features of the screw sedimentation centrifuge are remarkable:
It has a wide range of applications and can be used in various scenarios such as solid deliquid removal, liquid clarification, classification of solid particles by particle size, and liquid-liquid-solid three-phase separation.
2. It has a large adaptability to materials, can separate a wide range of solid particle sizes, and the concentration fluctuation of the suspension has little impact on the separation effect.
3. Compact structure, easy to achieve structural airtightness, can operate under a certain positive pressure, and occupies a small area.
4. It has a large single-machine production capacity, high separation quality, low operating costs, can run continuously for a long time, and is easy to maintain.
The screw sedimentation centrifuge, with its highly efficient, continuous and automatic solid-liquid separation capabilities, has been widely applied in fields such as chemical engineering, petroleum, food, pharmaceuticals and environmental protection.
